I read this quote today and couldn't help but post it. It's from Philip Nel's blog Nine Kinds of Pie, and it captures so well the "dance" that is a picture book...
A picture book is a portable art gallery. It's also an intricate dance between pictures and words, in which--though neither leads, and neither follows--no step is out of place, no dancers trip.
